Packing & Gear Guidelines for Your Jungle Expedition

This list provides recommendations for fishing tackle, rods, reels, terminal gear, clothing, and accessories to help you prepare for your jungle expedition. Please note that flights into the interior have a strict 40 lb baggage limit, and all gear is weighed at the terminal. If your luggage exceeds the limit, you may need to remove items before boarding, and it’s unlikely you’ll be able to retrieve them later. Travel in Guyana can be unpredictable, so it’s best to pack light, keep valuables to a minimum, and prepare for the unexpected.

The gear listed below is suggested only — feel free to bring what you prefer, but try to stay within similar guidelines for size and practicality. Each client will share a boat with another angler and a local Amerindian guide, so please limit rod lengths to 8 feet and pack terminal tackle in a small, organized bag to keep space clear and comfortable during your fishing days.
