Mark Bolton
Founder, Angler, Adventurer
Amazon River Monsters was founded in 2020 by Mark Bolton, whose mission was to create the ultimate jungle fishing experience for anglers seeking true adventure. Mark’s passion for exotic fishing began with his first trip to the Essequibo River in Guyana in March 2018, where he camped downstream of Fairview Village as a client. Since then, he has completed 22 jungle expeditions across Guyana, Suriname, and Brazil, developing an unmatched understanding of the rivers, species, and conditions that define the Amazon Basin.
Beyond South America, Mark has fished across Spain, France, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Greece, the United States, and Canada, building a lifetime of experience that spans more than five decades on the water. His jungle fishing highlight — a 252lb Paraiba Catfish caught in Suriname in March 2023 — remains one of many extraordinary catches.
Specializing in catfish species, Mark has surpassed the 100lb mark for Redtail and Wells Catfish, the 200lb mark for Sturgeon and Paraiba, and the 300lb mark for Arapaima — each milestone a testament to his skill, patience, and passion for the sport. Known for his personable nature and leadership, Mark brings confidence, expertise, and enthusiasm to every expedition, ensuring that every client not only catches fish but experiences the adventure of a lifetime.
